Athens street art is extremely vibrant and encompasses all kinds of urban artistic creations from hip hop (modern) graffiti to political activist stencil, fantastic paste-ups, and a number of small and large frescoes. The socio-economic problems experienced by the country over the past decade have been an additional source of inspiration that has led to the flourishing of artistic expression. After all, the walls of big cities which have been plagued by many problems are always fuel for a public gallery or notebook; people living here express themselves through public art, easily perceived and accessible to a wider audience.
