Korydallos Lake Park Walls
One of the largest public mural projects ever undertaken in Greece is Korydallos Lake Park Walls. It is an artistic intervention that transformed the wall of the former Korydallos women's prison into a new, modern, green park.
One of the largest public mural projects ever undertaken in Greece is Korydallos Lake Park Walls. It is an artistic intervention that transformed the wall of the former Korydallos women's prison into a new, modern, green park.
The iconic park features an original water structure, above and around which all the individual interventions for walking, playing, and recreation are developed. Particular attention has been paid to functionality and easy access to all areas, with walking paths, as well as to greenery, with the planting of a large number of trees, plants, and shrubs for the bioclimatic upgrading of the area. It is being built by the Municipality of Korydallos with funding from the Region of Attica and is expected to be delivered to the public in May.
Greek and foreign artists have created a large-scale outdoor gallery of murals on a wall with a total surface area of more than 1,300 square meters, inspired by nature, the aquatic environment, and art as an outlet for freedom.
The murals were painted between the end of February and the beginning of April 2022. The list of participating artists includes renowned names in the field, with different backgrounds and styles. A rather diverse mix of people who developed chemistry and ultimately became a wonderful, creative group:
• Lidia Cao & Murfin
• Wild Drawing
• One Bran & Jola
• Dimitris Meizar
• Gospel
• Apset
• Yiakou
• Epsilon
• Krah
• Achilles
• Platonas
