10+1 unusual things to do in Athens
Athens is Europe’s oldest capital and one of the oldest cities in the world.
Everyone knows Athens as the birthplace of famous philosophers, politicians, and tragedians like Socrates, Pericles, and Sophocles, for the establishment of the first known democracy in the world, also for the theatre which is a real trademark (so much that Athens is home to 148 theatre stages, more than the West End and Broadway combined)!
Today Athens is a bustling and modern capital city that provides a time-warping blend of modernity and the ancient world and home to some of Greece’s most important tourist attractions like the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, National Archaeology Museum, Ancient Agora, Roman Forum & Hadrian's Library and a lot of fascinating Byzantine monuments.
Millions of people visit Athens each year, but for all its popularity, the Greek capital retains a lot of mysteries. There are plenty of unusual, weird, and offbeat things to see and do if you know where to look.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
I participated in the virtual tour and I was impressed about how many things I learned during the virtual tour about pieces of street art that I actually meet every day in Athens and I knew nothing about their stories! Kalliopi and Thomas were excellent hosts and are really informed about the pieces they presented. The vibe was vivid, the quiz and all the interactive games were really fun and definitely I can't wait to go on the tour in the streets of Athens with them!

This was a wonderful experience. We learned so much and got some great recommendations for our inspired trip to Athens. We both love to travel and although that is not possible right now, she gave us a personal glimpse into a country we hope to visit.
